SESS: Premiere Education for Advancing Emergency & Forensic Nursing Careers

Posted 5 months ago

Dear SESS Colleagues,

In light of the rapidly changing health environment related to the spread of the Covid-19 virus, and recent state and federal mandates about efforts to contain spread, the SESS Board has voted to cancel this year’s Southeastern Seaboard Emergency Nursing Symposium (SESS) for 2020.  Our priority is the health and safety of our colleagues and the community at large.

Refund options are as follows

  • Transfer entire payment to next year’s SESS
  • Transfer $100 as a deposit towards next year’s SESS and refund the balance
  • Full Refund

For those requesting a full or partial refund, please let me know 1)to whom the check will be made payable to and 2) the full address where the check should be mailed.

Checks will be issued for all refunds via our Bank of America account. Please note, that when the check arrives, it will come in a plain envelope that might even look like it’s junk mail. It will not have a SESS Return address on it.  Please be patient in terms of when it will make its way to your mailbox. We have no idea if there will be delays in mail delivery as part of this national emergency.

To our wonderful speakers: Thank you so much for your dedication to this event. We hope you will consider resubmitting to speak next year once we have the date and location confirmed. We will stay in touch.  If anyone else is interested in speaking, we’d love to have a proposal or two from you as well!

Hotel: All reservations were automatically canceled once the hotel was notified of our cancelation. However, the hotel has graciously agreed to honor the group rate if you still want to go to Myrtle Beach as long as the hotel remains open. Ask to speak to Jackie Malloy at the Hilton.

We appreciate your support of this conference and your patience as well with this process.

Please take care of yourself, stay healthy, stay safe.

Andrea Novak, PhD, RN, NPD-BC, FAEN, President and The SESS Board
